Awais Babar's quest for the ideal gift for his loved one transformed into a successful venture as Endura Roses emerged as a thriving franchise within just four years.
The genesis of this business was Awais Babar's frustration when he failed to find a suitable gift for his daughter at Heathrow Airport. Despite visiting several duty-free shops, he left without making a purchase. The idea struck him when he contemplated buying a bouquet of flowers, only to find them wilted and unappealing.
That moment of disappointment ignited a spark that led to the creation of Endura Roses. Determined to create flowers that maintained their allure and freshness for years, Awais embarked on a journey to revolutionise the floral industry.
In 2016, after perfecting a preservation technique, Awais launched his business. His team developed a chemical process that revitalised flowers at the brink of decay, enabling them to retain their beauty for an extended period.
Awais shared, "Flowers are a wonderful gift for any loved one or family member, but their beauty fades swiftly. Our goal was to extend their life, allowing them to serve as a lasting reminder of the giver's affection."
"Our creations are designed to last at least four years, but with proper care and when enclosed in protective glass, they can last up to 50 years. Our products range from keyring pendants to luxurious arrangements adorned with rare Ecuadorian diamonds and 24-carat gold, valued up to £20,000," he added.
The company boasts a team of skilled floral artists who continuously innovate. Their latest collection, Nature's Symphony, showcases their evolving creativity, with many more designs anticipated for 2021.
Endura Roses operates through five franchisees in the UK, located in London, Birmingham, and Manchester. Recent expansions include a new store at the Trafford Centre and an upcoming one at London's Olympic Park. The company has also extended its reach internationally with franchises in Oslo, Boston, and Mumbai.
The Emotional Allure of Roses: Why They Resonate with Us
Amid Endura Roses' innovation and expansion, Awais Babar reflects on the timeless appeal of roses and their profound impact on our emotions. "Roses have a unique place in our hearts and homes," Awais explains. They are more than just visually appealing; they evoke deep emotional responses."
Awais believes that a rose's beauty transcends aesthetics. "Roses symbolise love, gratitude, and sympathy. These are not just blooms; they are messengers of our deepest feelings. By preserving roses, we aim to immortalise these sentiments, allowing a single moment's emotion to flourish for years."
He also points out that the sensory experience of roses—their delicate scent, their velvety petals—stimulates our senses in a way that few other flowers can. "The scent of a rose can transport us to a cherished memory or a peaceful moment, making them a potent symbol of mindfulness and presence."
"Our goal at Endura Roses is not just to preserve flowers, but to capture the essence of these emotional experiences. When someone receives one of our roses, it's not just a gift; it's an enduring connection, a reminder of a bond that persists through time," Awais concludes.
Many are curious about the process of preserving roses. Understanding this process sheds light on how we maintain each rose's natural beauty and emotional significance. The preservation process involves carefully selecting the finest roses at their peak bloom and using advanced techniques to retain their form, colour, and texture. This method ensures that the roses do not wilt or lose their vibrancy, allowing them to serve as lasting symbols of love and memory.
Preserving roses is both an art and a science, requiring meticulous attention to detail. The initial steps involve dehydration and rehydration phases, where the roses are treated with a solution that replaces the natural sap, followed by a careful drying process. This meticulous approach keeps the roses looking fresh and maintains their delicate fragrance.
At Endura Roses, we believe that each preserved rose tells a story—of a cherished moment, a special bond, or a heartfelt message. Through this preservation process, we strive to offer a timeless piece of nature that continues to bring joy and evoke emotions long after the initial moment has passed.
